The Victorian-era was a strange time to live in America... and a strange time to die...

Come join the Norfolk Society for Cemetery Conservation for a twilight walking tour of Norfolk's historic Elmwood Cemetery.

Led by local historian Joshua Weinstein, the Strange Happenings Tour focuses on the funerary artwork, mourning rituals, and burial practices of Victorian-era America as we explore that era's macabre obsession with death and dying.

We will be walking or standing the whole time, so please bring comfy shoes and/or a portable chair. All ages welcome! You can even bring your dog :)

Park anywhere the ground is paved, and we will meet at the picnic tables next to the office, just beyond the entrance gates. You can't miss it!

***All proceeds go to the Norfolk Society for Cemetery Conservation, an all-volunteer non-profit dedicated to the preservation of Norfolk's historic cemeteries***
