Mike Krol
Hello one and all, I realize it’s been about six months since we last spoke, for that I apologize. In that time I’ve been absorbing lots of music and accumulating new bands and artists into my library. Today I bring you one such artist, Mike Krol. Mike Krol is a Garage Rock Revivalist from Wisconsin. Born in 1984 Krol, by the age of 7 had already picked up the drums and began pursuing percussion. In high school he borrowed his friends guitar and ever since then has been playing raw fast rock music more interested in the feeling than the technical aspects of playing. Krol wears his influences on his shoulder, making a mixture of pop, punk and garage music reminiscent of bands like Weezer, Ramones, The Kinks, and many more. In 2011 Krol released his DIY album I Hate Jazz followed by his 2013 album Trust Fund. After the release of Trust Fund more and more people began to take notice of Krol and he was signed onto Merge records for his 2015 and 2019 albums: Turkey and Power Chords. His music hit the mainstream after two of his songs were featured in the popular Cartoon Network show Steven Universe and followed this up with another song appearing in a Levis ad.
